Sergi Darder, RCD Mallorca midfielder, analyzed the goalless draw against CD Eldense and reflected on the long road ahead for the team in the Segunda División. The vermilion team registered their first draw of the season after four matchdays, sitting seventh in the table with seven points, three behind leaders Castellón.

After the match, Darder was clear about expectations. "We know the league will be complicated. Anyone who thinks we will be promoted in February is very wrong," stated the midfielder. With five goals scored and only two conceded, the defensive record is positive, but the player believes the team can generate more in attack.

The Catalan footballer highlighted the solidity shown in the match against Eldense. He said the team competed very well and conceded very few chances, just two corners and little more. He explained that, despite not having overly defensive full-backs or a defensive pivot, the defensive concepts are very well worked on and the team feels comfortable in that aspect.

However, Darder pointed out that success is not only about scoring the chances they create. He firmly believes the team has more football and more 'edge' in the final third to generate greater danger. They have clear chances, play well, take risks, and are well positioned, but they must be more decisive in the opposition box.

For the experienced midfielder, the parity in the category is extreme. He even compared the difference between being seventh or eighth in La Liga and tenth or twelfth in the Segunda, stating it is minimal. He recalled that last season's relegation was decided by goal difference, a detail that illustrates how tight the competition is.

Darder described the process as very long. He underlined that several players have just arrived and are getting to know each other, in addition to interpreting a very different game model. He is sure that, little by little, they will get the forwards to score more goals. Meanwhile, the team must start winning away from home, because only winning at Son Moix will not be enough.

RCD Mallorca faces the season with a record of two wins, one draw, and one loss. Their next fixture is a direct clash against Sabadell, third in the table, on September 13th at home. This match will be an important test to demonstrate their attacking potential.

The team must also manage the absence of Abdón Prats, who is listed on the injuries page. Despite this, Darder showed unwavering faith in the project. He said he believes in what is being done and in his teammates, and described the squad as very deep and competitive. He is convinced the point earned at Eldense could be the start of something good away from home.

The path set by the club is clear: the sole objective is promotion. Darder stated they must not hide, they must be ambitious and know there are many paths to achieve a return to the top flight. Next week, against Sabadell, will be the time to show that ambition at their stadium.

Fans can follow the squad's development on the official squad page and check the full schedule in fixtures. Javier Aguirre's team seeks to consolidate their game and climb positions in a very tight standings table where every point counts.
